Welcome to Bright Ridge High School…
Inked Magnolia is the first book in The Bright Ridge Six Series and gives the reader an introduction to what high school was like for the different characters that attended Bright Ridge High School.
As the series begins with Inked Magnolia, we meet Gabrielle Lawrence, a transfer student arriving during senior year. On top of being the new girl, she’s got premature gray hair and a gap in her teeth which contributes to the growing target on her back. From her first day, she becomes the unfortunate favorite victim for the school’s cruelest clique - The Six. Comprised of the most popular, beautiful, and wealthy students, The Six bullies Gabrielle mercilessly.
The series features six books that will function as interconnected standalones, however reading them all in order will provide a full view of all overlapping timelines and characters. Each book in the series will follow the story of one of The Six as they navigate obstacles in life caused by their past. Flashbacks will be heavily featured, and some might be the same as previous books, but from a different character’s perspective. Each will have their own HEA, but not without a difficult lesson and serious shadow work.
Forgiveness and redemption are heavy themes, but just as it is in real life, they are not quick or easy to come by. Some characters will do things that are irredeemable or unforgivable, but explainable when you learn about their histories. By the end of the entire series, you’ll have met a group of people that are flawed, but finding their way to a better version of themselves, and sometimes that’s all we can expect from those who’ve hurt us.
Inked Magnolia will be released on February 18th, and focuses on Jace Caufford. He’s the first of The Six to face his shot at salvation. The rest of the books in the series have been outlined, and book 2 is being drafted as you read this article.
A cute fun fact - all 6 books will be the same locker cover with different stickers that give small hints to scenes in the books. If you happen to collect all 6, when you put them on a shelf facing front, it will look like a hallway in Bright Ridge High School :)
I hope you enjoy the full journey through their stories, and thank you for reading!
